This painting is based on the New York All-Male Comic Ballet Company - Les Ballets Trockadero De Monte Carlo, affectionately called "the Trocks".

The men in tutus strut their stuff expertly--heavy bodies delicately balancing on toes enhances rather than mocks the spirit of the dance as an art form.

It takes an athlete to dance, but an artist to be a dancer.
