In 1991, when American Dennis Tito became the first space tourist. I did a series of paintings with a space theme.

With the continued advancement in space exploration, it is not inconceivable than lunar holidays will become part of our travel itinerary.

So I present here a mock-up of an advertisement for a Lunar Holiday Special as designed by the Dali-Moore Agency – a make-believe agency so named as I have used photographs of Henry Moore’s sculptures and as the bottom left picture is curiously very Dali-esque.

This picture was the cover of a very old computer magazine, found in the bottom of a friend’s cupboard, when I was helping him move house. It was consigned to the reject pile so I immediately claimed it and added it to my collection, determined at some suitable point in time, to breathe new life into it.

The Henry Moore Sculptures were photographed during their exhibition in Te Papa Museum of New Zealand in 2002.

Materials used: Ink-jet print on paper, magazine cut-outs, postcards,
newspaper cut-outs, photographs of Henry Moore’s Sculptures,
cover from an old computer magazine, calendars, matt varnish.
