Giacometti's sculptures - Women of Venus and head of Annette

On my birthday in August 1999, I trekked to the bottom of Bryce Canyon. It was an awesome experience. The glowing yellowish-orange giant stalagmite-like formations call hoodoos that towered over me made me feel like I was in a valley of sculptures. The works that sprung to my mind then was that of the Swiss painter and sculptor, Alberto Giacometti.

Thus my painting of Bryce Canyon incorporated many of Giacometti’s sculptures and those of you familiar with his works would find here the heads of Diego and Annette and the Women of Venus.
