American Odyssey -Expressions of impressions

In 1999, I travelled to America - in parts to relive memories of the America  I visited in days gone by with my late husband Michael, and taking the opportunity to call on old friends and in others, to take in new vista - places that till then have been on the "places-to-visit" list   My journey took me from Colorado, north through several National Parks and the Canyon country, then eastward to New England and parts of Eastern Canada and through the large metropolises of New York, Chicago, Boston and Philadelphia.

Each place had its special appeal and impact on me. As  I was also seeing America with artist’s eyes,  I decided to record some of the impressions of my travel through a series of paintings. Here are just some of my travelogue that had found expression through the medium of paint. 

Each painting is accompanied by a synopsis and some photos of the places visited. I trust you will enjoy them as much as I have enjoyed reliving my odyssey through my painting.
